Water Trust Board approved a grant to the City of Espanola
Date: April 23, 2008
The New Mexico Water Trust Board approved a grant to the City of Espanola in the amount of $2,580,000.00 on April 23, 2008. This will provide the funding to construct the extension of a new water line on US84/285 from SR 102 (at Dandy Burger) to State Road 76. It will also provide the funding to connect wells 4 and 7 as part of a water blending project to meet the Federal arsenic standards for drinking water.
The key to the city’s success was the negotiated agreement with Cuatro Villas. This demonstrated the City’s commitment to regionalization. It was ranked very high by the New Mexico Environment Department.
