| Danielle Duran is a City Councilor in Espaņola , New Mexico. She was elected in March 2006 for a four-year term. Some of her top priorities for the City are financial stability, transparent governance, public safety, economic development and youth activities. Danielle Duran is currently the International Trade Coordinator with the Economic Development Department of the State of New Mexico. Danielle has held this position since December 2004. In this position she carries out the international strategy of the State in various markets and assists SMEs in expanding their international market access. In the last two years Danielle has worked mainly with Japan, Israel and Germany as well as the U.K. In addition to assisting small and medium sized businesses in exporting, she has been successful in solidifying relationships with government agencies in Japan, U.K. and Germany. Prior to joining the State of New Mexico, Danielle Duran lived and worked in Kitakyushu, Japan for Yaskawa Electric Corp., a multi-million dollar industrial equipment corporation. She worked in the areas of Corporate and Technology Development. Her main responsibility was in strategic contracts and partnerships with foreign (non-Japanese) companies.Danielle Duran earned a B.A. in Economics from Trinity University in 1993 and an MBA from the University of New Mexico in 1997.In May 2007 she was named one of New Mexico’s top 40 under 40 by New Mexico Business Weekly.She loves Espaņola and is very happy to be back in her hometown. |
