Councilor John L. Ricci moved his family back to the Española Valley in 1993, the hometown of his wife Barbara. They have one son, Brandon. John was born and raised in a farming community in Sonoma County, California to the late Juanita and Dante Ricci.
John started his career in the retail industry as a part-time employee in high school and worked his way upward to an Assistant Store Manager, Set-up Crew Manager, Corporate Management Trainer, Store Manager and Business Owner. When John moved to Española, he opened and managed the Española AutoZone making it a top revenue store in the chain within its first year. In 1996, John opened his own business - M.A. R.S./Bumper Clinic an automotive paint and body repair shop and successfully managed his business for nineteen years. In 2014, John merged with Extreme Twist a full collusion operation.
John’s business background provides knowledge in strategic planning, time management, quality assurance, cost and procurement management and human resource development.
John has been involved in many community organizations in the Española Valley, including President of HAS for Holy Cross School, President of the Acequia de los Herrera’s Community Ditch, Cub Scout Master for Troop 425, Soccer Coach, and Knights of Columbus Council 3314– Third Degree. For the past eighteen years, he has served as an Acolyte for Holy Cross Catholic Church and for the past six years has served on the Española Planning and Zoning Commission with his last position as Vice-Chair. His professional involvement includes SEMA Organization and member of the PRO Council.
John’s friendly and outgoing disposition has always shown a willingness to lend a hand to a neighbor or community functions without hesitation. Councilor Ricci has been humbled and honored that the citizens of the beautiful Española Valley have embraced and elected him to serve our community.
