Salary range $65,000 - $85,000, excellent benefit package.

| GENERAL DESCRIPTION: |
Appointed by the City Mayor and
under the general direction of the City Manager, the successful applicant must
be an attorney licensed to practice law in Federal and State Court in the State
of New Mexico. A background in municipal law is preferred, with an emphasis
in employment law. The city attorney serves as Chief Prosecutor in enforcing
all ordinances, including municipal criminal and municipal code ordinances.
Provides advisement in legal and administrative proceedings and on personnel
matters to the Mayor, City Council, and City Manager. Commonly advises on issues
regarding municipal planning and zoning, resolutions, ordinances, leases, contracts,
policies, procedures, annexations, sale and purchase agreements and memorandums
of understanding and agreement relevant to municipal government.
