City of Espaņola Cuts Ribbon on Wastewater Treatment Plant
On January 19, 2008, city officials cut the ribbon on the largest utility project in the history of the city. The plant, which was finished on time and under budget, allows the city to provide wastewater services both for 20 years to come, as well as allows for expansion to service outlying areas. Mayor Maestas, Mayor Pro Tem Lucero, and several councilors attended to cut the ribbon and unveil the dedication plaque. Also in attendance was Congressman Tom Udall, who was instrumental in securing funds for the project.
